Bruce Tuckman Theory
- Forming: Is this the stage in which we try to decide who are our group members? who is the leader? In our group in the forming stage, Rataj and Areej had already decided on being in the same group since they know each other well, however the other team members were chosen randomly by the instructor.
- Storming: This is where all group members become more clear about their goals. In this stage, communication, being clear, and straight forward is key; as at this stage group members may disagree about assigning roles and their finals goals. Here, conflict is prone to happen. In Our group, some group members did not agree with the other group members way of doing things, which lead to some frustration between them. For example, in GCA 1 Reem and Najlaa did not agree with Rataj being the group leader, yet Rataj thought that she would be a better leader as she liked things to go her way.
- Norming: After being clear about each member's goals, group members agree on the roles and tasks assigned to them. In our case, we compromised between our members, agreed on some points; like the tasks given to each member, and changed other points; like Rataj becoming thee leader and assigning this role to Areej instead, and we started working cohesively.
- Performing: This is the stage where all things come together, and group members come closer to achieving their goals. We are now at this stage, after understanding the roles and tasks, and agreeing on all points. We are all okay with our leader being Areej, she started assigning the questions of the assignment to the group members, and checking our answers. While Najlaa focusd on the overall design of the blog and participated to add pictures for all answers, Rataj, Fatemah, and Reem answered the questions.
- Adjourning: This is the finals stage after achieving all asks and reaching their common goal. We've not reached this stage yet, it will happen after submitting our first assignment. By then, we'll have an understanding of all group members weaknesses, strengths, and goals.
